Granular Lab is a toolkit for granular synthesis built around raw material and instruments working together. 128 samples — field recordings, degraded textures, and deliberately unstable audio — provide the source. These are sounds chosen for how they respond to granular processing: they scatter, morph, and break in ways that clean recordings don’t. The Pigments presets show what that processing does to the material. The Ableton Live Pack packages everything into a structured workflow.
The samples are designed as granular fuel: sounds that react distinctively when stretched, scattered, and sliced. The presets use that same library as source, so you can hear exactly what the raw material becomes under granular processing — and build your own variations from there.
