Thank you for purchasing Obsydian sound library for Generate.
Obsydian offers a versatile set of presets tailored for cinematic-oriented genres. These sounds are universally compatible across all MIDI controllers, whether you use a standard MIDI controller or an MPE-compatible controller. If you have an MPE controller, you'll benefit from additional expressive options.
To ensure optimal performance, always set Generate to MPE mode and configure your DAW plugin wrapper (such as in Ableton Live) to MPE mode as well. This is necessary because, in non-MPE mode, the Slide value is transmitted at half its value instead of 0, which is the default for the presets. Essentially, the presets may sound different with a regular MIDI controller depending on whether MPE is enabled or disabled.
Installation instructions
- Unpack the downloaded file “Obsydian for Generate by Spektralisk.zip.”
- Copy the inner folder “Obsydian” from the unpacked file to the default location of the Generate preset library:
- Mac:
<User>/Music/Newfangled Audio/Generate/Presets - Windows:
<Documents>/Newfangled Audio/Generate/Presets - Rescan the presets in the Library tab of Generate.
- After rescan you should see the Obsydian bank installed like above.
- Done!
