Moss is a collection of 50 presets for Dawesome Myth, set in a world where machines were left alone long enough for something to grow over them. Most of it is pads and complex, layered atmospheres that never sit still: textures that creep, breathe and shift as they play. Around them, playable winds, bells and mallets struck from metal and glass, and near-silent details pulled up from the noise floor.
Most of the source material comes from my own field recordings — radiators, glassware, old metal and kitchen objects — with the rest drawn from older samples in my library. Myth resynthesizes them into instruments that still carry the grain of the thing they came from.
Every preset shares the same four macros, and each one behaves a little differently from preset to preset. Moss is the wildcard: it might nudge the texture or run a multi-stage morph through the sound. Color changes the timbre, often pulling resonance and harmonics out of noise-heavy material. Motion shapes how the sound evolves over time rather than switching movement on or off. Aura is mostly space, along with echo, granular smearing and modulation such as chorus and phaser.
The cover is a real place too: moss-covered bunkers I photographed on a walk through the woods.
