Uran Series is a sound design project for Absynth 6, focused on cinematic, dark, and evolving sound material.
The presets are designed as sound systems rather than fixed results. Many sounds rely on modulation, macros, and performance controls to shape their behavior over time. Instead of presenting a single static state, patches are intended to change and respond while being played.
Uran is meant for situations where interaction, movement, and gradual transformation are part of the sound itself.
Design Approach
Uran presets are intentionally open-ended.
Each patch acts as a flexible starting point. Motion, variation, and long-form evolution are built into the sounds, often becoming more apparent during extended use rather than at first glance.
Common characteristics across the series:
- Presets built as systems, not fixed snapshots
- Extensive use of macros and modulation
- Mod wheel used as a central performance control
- Sounds designed to change over time
- Emphasis on interaction rather than preset browsing
This approach fits cinematic scoring, ambient music, experimental production, and sound design contexts where movement and continuity matter.
Series Structure
Uran is organized as a multi-volume series.
Each volume focuses on a particular category or approach while sharing a consistent design mindset. Volumes are self-contained and released individually as they are completed.
Feedback from Early Listeners
“These are possibly the best Absynth patches I’ve ever heard — for that matter any patches for any synth ever. I spend so much time playing with the macros, and I haven’t even started poking around under the hood. They’re all so beautiful and evocative.”
— Brian Clevinger, Creator of Absynth
