One Instrument, Three Perspectives
Obsydian is an ongoing sound-design series for Newfangled Audio Generate. Each collection isolates a different part of the instrument’s unstable, physical character while retaining a shared dark and cinematic identity.
- Dark Energy establishes the core palette with 200 drones, sequences, soundscapes, and tension-driven cinematic presets.
- Motion Arps focuses that energy into 55 arpeggios, rhythmic sequences, pulses, and evolving movement.
- Raw Expressions turns toward direct performance with 50 exposed acoustic-like, synthetic, and experimental tones shaped for MPE control.
The collections work independently. Together they move from atmosphere through motion into tactile expression without forcing every sound into the same role.
The Obsydian Bundle
The Obsydian Bundle collects the currently available series in one 305-preset library. It is the most direct route into the full range of the series while leaving room for Obsydian to continue evolving.
Performance and Compatibility
All three collections work with conventional MIDI controllers and offer additional expressive control through MPE. For the complete series, Newfangled Audio Generate 1.7.4 or later is required.
